Privacy Policy
Your training is yours.

The short version: EightGears collects nothing.
No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no data ever sent to us or sold to anyone. Your plan and your health data stay on your iPhone and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud. We built it this way on purpose.
EightGears is a training coach that works entirely on your iPhone. This policy explains, plainly, what it uses and what it never does.
What EightGears reads
- Apple Health, read only. With your permission, EightGears reads your completed workouts (heart rate, pace, distance, time) so it can see how your fitness is trending and offer to update your paces. It never writes anything to Apple Health, and it never reads anything you haven't allowed.
- What you tell it. Your race times, your goal race, your training days and your preferences: the things you enter so EightGears can build your plan.
That is the whole list. EightGears does not use location tracking, your contacts, the microphone or any advertising identifier.
Where your data lives
- On your iPhone. Your profile, plan, workouts and history are stored on your phone.
- In your own iCloud, if you use it. If you're signed in to iCloud, that data is kept in your private iCloud through Apple, so your plan comes back if you reinstall or move to a new iPhone. Mana Athletic never sees it.
- Delete to erase. Deleting the app removes everything from your phone. "Erase my data & start over" in the app's Settings also clears your iCloud copy.
What we never do
No analytics · no third-party tracking code · no advertising · no tracking across apps or websites · no selling, renting or sharing of your data · nothing sent to Mana Athletic's servers.
On the App Store, the EightGears privacy label reads "Data Not Collected," and we mean it literally.
If you write to us
If you email us for support, ask us to add a race course, or tap "Notify me" to hear when the version for younger athletes is ready, your message reaches us like any email, sent from your own Mail app. We use it only to reply or to send the one notice you asked for. We never add you to a marketing list and we never share your address.
Younger athletes
EightGears asks your age before it builds a plan. It is built for athletes 13 and older. A parent-supported version for younger athletes is in the works. EightGears does not knowingly collect data from anyone, children included, because it does not collect data at all.
Other apps and devices
Your Apple Watch, and services like Strava, Garmin or COROS, may save your workouts into Apple Health. EightGears only reads from Apple Health. It has no direct connection to those services and sends them nothing. How they handle your data is covered by their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how EightGears handles data, we'll update this page and its date first. Because the app collects nothing, we don't expect that to happen.
