Common questions
I used RunMana before. Where did it go?
EightGears is RunMana's new name, and it arrives as a new app. Install EightGears and set it up again: enter your race times and goal race, and your runs come back on their own from Apple Health. Once you're set up, delete RunMana so only one app sends workouts to your watch.
How do I connect Apple Health?
Open the Profile tab, tap the gear for Settings, and in the Apple Health section tap Connect Apple Health, then allow read access. If you connected but don't see your workouts, open the iPhone's Settings app, go to Health, then Data Access & Devices, then EightGears, and turn read access on.
I can't run a 5K yet. Is this app for me?
Yes. EightGears has a walking program built around your life: you choose the days and how long you walk, and each session comes with heart-rate guidance so the effort is right for you. Walking is training, and the app treats it that way. Moving toward running is an offer you can take someday, never something the app pushes.
How do I get a workout onto my Apple Watch?
EightGears sends your sessions to Apple's own Workout app, with the warm-up, intervals and targets inside. There's no separate watch app to install. Open the Workout app on your watch and start the session there. The Apple Watch guide walks through it.
Can I use kilometers?
Yes. Profile tab, then the gear for Settings, then Units.
Does my plan come with me to a new iPhone?
Yes, through your own iCloud. When you're signed in to iCloud, your plan and history come back when you reinstall or set up a new iPhone. It's private to you; we never see it.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes everything from your iPhone. To also clear your iCloud copy, use "Erase my data & start over" in the app's Settings. Apple Health itself is never touched; EightGears only ever reads from it.
